The tree is never felled. Only branches that have already fallen naturally to the ground are used, so nothing goes to waste. Each knife is shaped from a single piece of wood using simple tools and without chemical treatment, allowing the wood's own warm color and grain to emerge. Therefore, no two are ever exactly
